That cat situation is very bizarre; we have the opposite problem in rural west Germany: too many feral/stray cats everywhere and because they are cats and cats are cute, people feed them so they multiply even more. It got so bad that animal welfare societies were completely overwhelmed and demanding that every "free-range" cat must be neutered or they would stop their catch, neuter and release-programs so that the villages would drown in strays. As of this year, owners are obliged to neuter their cats if they let them out; i wonder if we will have a similar situation like you in Sweden in the future and people will start breeding programs for the bog-standard farm cat... And, as always, thank you very much for sharing your little corner of the word! I really appreciate that.

In Canada, we’ve called the diversity of plant & tree species “permaculture” where they enhance the forest or gardens & fields. In the UK I think we usually just call it BBQ, as in barbecued meat, sausages etc. A grill is something you cook the food under eg melted cheese on toast.

When I see you walking in the forest I wonder if you are ever scared of meeting bears. I have a house just south of you near Ramsjo and we have so many bears in those forests. I am glad also you mentioned the mosquitos. How do you cope with them? Do you know why there are so many? We cannot even sit in our garden for a minute without being covered in them in summer.

Hello dear Matias, Tova and Ivor! How wonderful to see that the snow has finally melted away and the sheep are lambing. Oh....the Bar-B-Q looked wonderful and your timber house is coming along....The walk in the forest was lovely and the time on the lake so beautiful. Your self taught knowledge is so impressive .....both Mathia and Tova! Few people could survive in such harsh winters. Tova has such a beautiful smile and always is so supportive of Mathias Yes, it is so very important that we save the natural forests. Ivor is learning many things as he watches his father. Does he have some little friends nearby to visit and play with? Your 'fortitude' and determination to live on your own is so impressive. Few would survive even one winter. I look forward to more videos throughout your short summer and your many projects ....especially building your timber house. (a viewer in the U.S.)

In Australia we call it a barbecue or BBQ, and in Aus slang we say, “barbie”. As in “we are having a barbie tonight for dinner”

People in the US, Canada and Australia grill meat or other food on a BBQ (called a barbie in Australia). The other you mentioned is called a smoker, where you can smoke fish, meat, duck or anything really for several hours to get the smoky flavor in the cooked food. I'm sending you all best wishes, from Italy. (In Italy everything is called a forno haha - pizza oven, BBQ or an outdoor oven).

In California, grilling and BBQing is the exact same thing- cooking outside over charcoal, gas, or wood (for long or short amountof time). Oven cooking is broiling or baking. And smoking is separate form of BBQ. ❤
